I'm sure many of you have already read the article posted by =Ryser915 [link] regarding wildlife photography ethics. If you haven't read it already it is a must. you can find the article here [link] thanks ryan for writing this.

reading this article reminded me of a very interesting moment i witnessed this spring in Yellowstone National park. My shot titled moose shake :thumb123998482: [link]
I was driving through the park one morning when
I noticed a couple cars pull off to the side of the road. As you who have been to yellowstone know this usually means that there is something out so keep your eyes open. as i slowed down i noticed some people running toward something so i stopped and got the camera ready. I couldn't tell what they were all worked up about but they were focused on something in the cover of some trees. They were snapping pictures of the pretty dense cover maybe 10 yards in front of them. Me and my friend who was with me were pretty amused by them so I was taking pictures of them because I still couldn't tell what they were shooting. Finally after several minutes a young male moose leaped out of the brush startling the people who were yards away from him and the young moose trotted into and crossed the nearby river.I was amazed at how close these people kept walking towards this moose and I couldn't help but think how dangerous this was. I also though that if I had known that it was in fact a moose that they were shooting I wouldn't have even been as close as I was. Keep in mind that at the time I was using a 400mm lens with a 2x TC and shooting from the safety of my car and i cropped in on my images. People like this are dangerous to themselves and to the animals.

People are simply unbelievable. I have so many words I can use right now, but I won't. I personally love that shot btw.

Dude. Yellowstone is horrible for stuff like that. I hate to say it but honestly, it seems as though some asian tourists don't understand how wild wildlife is.

Two stories, both involving Asians.

#1. In Lamar valley, 2 springs ago, I was set up on a tripod just beneath Dead Puppy Hill where the Druid Pack was denned. The entire area was closed off except for the pull off where I was at. Set up around me was a group of about 40 other photogs and spotters. An elk had died overnight about 200 yards out from the pull off and we all waited 9 hours that morning for a wolf to come eat on it.

So, a lone black wolf shows up after scaring some coyotes away and starts eating. Not a second later does a Bus of asian tourists show up and a dozen of them continued to walk past the "Do Not Pass" sign and they walked directly to the carcass. All of us were yelling at them but they ignored us all and ended up spooking the wolf off the kill.

#2. On my last trip up to the park a few weeks ago, a saw an entire bus load of asian tourists completely surround a big buck. From there, they continued to make the circle tighter as they all attempted to get closer. Several were within 5-10 feet of him and the deer kept looking for a way out. He ran in circles and charged at the crowd. They all shreaked and then continued to surround him again until a Ranger showed up and threatened to cite all of them.

There needs to more education for everyone that visits the park on ethics.

Oh man! That's a great idea. I think we could actually get that going into a blog that gets TONS of hit.

you can head it. Just think of me when it goes big. Seriously though, it could raise a lot of much needed awareness.
